The history of this House in Burgundy begins in 1731 with the first acquisitions of vines by Denis Latour, a few decades later, Louis Latour officially founded the House in 1797 and gave it its name. Today she cultivates the largest estate of Grands Crus in Burgundy.
Located in the north of the Côte de Beaune, the Corton appellation is one of the most prestigious, it is the only one to have the Grand Cru designation for red wines. The "Clos du Roi" has its origins in 1477, on the death of Charles the Bold, last Duke of Burgundy, this plot, already popular at the time, was renamed as such upon entering the royal domain.
This bottle of Louis Latour Corton Grand Cru "Clos du Roi" 2016 comes from a very successful vintage in Burgundy, and already very open. Although it has great aging potential, you can enjoy it today after an hour in a carafe.
