Ata Rangi is the Maori translation of 'New Beginning' or 'Dawn Sky'. This refers to the 5 hectares that Clive Paton purchased in 1980. He was among the pioneers to establish a vineyard in this remote region of New Zealand with its remarkable terroir.
This very elegant Pinot Noir with an attack of red fruits followed by notes of plum, redcurrant, fresh herbs and truffle. It is a dense wine, with typical aromas of classic Pinot Noir well enveloped by smooth and ripe tannins revealing its beautiful structure.
This bottle of Ata Rangi Pinot Noir 2016 is at its peak today and does not require decanting before tasting.
