Château Ausone

2002

Saint Emilion

Red - 0,75 l

Named after the ancient poet of the 4th century who is said to have been the owner of the wine estate, Château Ausone is today an absolute reference in Saint-Emilion, on the right bank of Bordeaux. This red wine is considered by critics to be one of the very best from the Bordeaux vineyard.
Its sloping, very limestone terrain with clayey parts offers the vines an ideal soil to express themselves. The Cabernet Franc and Merlot vines arranged on terraces on the hill seek resources deep in the limestone soil, thus bringing great complexity and aromatic intensity into the glass.
When tasting, the Cabernet Franc brings minerality and power while the Merlot adds roundness and fruitiness. A perfect balance enhanced by the richness of the soil and the right vinification.
This bottle of Château Ausone 2002 is at its peak and will remain so until 2030 or even 2035... enjoy your tasting!
