Located in Alsace, Domaine Marcel Deiss has been known for many years for its practice of co-planting, which consists of combining different grape varieties on the same plot. A pioneer in biodynamics, the estate incorporates this ancient viticultural practice for a better expression of the terroir.
Gruenspiel is one of three red wines produced by the estate. It is composed largely of Pinot Noir, with the remainder Pinot Beurrot and Pinot Gris. This Alsace red wine is characterized by beautiful power and a long finish. It is slightly tannic and has a strong aging potential of around 25 years.
This bottle of Marcel Deiss Gruenspiel Rouge 2022 can be enjoyed today, preferably with two hours of aeration in a carafe. It will be even better after a few years in the cellar.
