At the head of the family estate since 1996, Christine Vernay has had a string of successes with her various vintages, making Domaine Georges Vernay today one of the most emblematic in the northern Rhône Valley. Red wines and white wines are produced from a 24-hectare vineyard with certification in organic viticulture. Spread across 3 different appellations (Condrieu, Côte-Rôtie and Saint-Joseph), Christine Vernay's wines are distinguished and fine, we find in particular in the red wines all the charm and freshness of the spices characteristic of Syrah from the northern Rhône .
Located on granite soil in Saint-Joseph, the vines of "Terres d'Encre" are around thirty years old. The 100% Syrah red wine produced from it reveals the beautiful fresh and spicy structure typical of red wines from the northern Rhône valley.
This bottle of Georges Vernay Saint-Joseph Terres d'Encre 2022 is still a little young but is already expressive, wait 2 to 6 years for optimal tasting. Decant an hour beforehand if you are drinking it today.
