This special cuvée from Mas Saint Louis is distinguished first of all by a higher proportion of Syrah in the blend, it nevertheless does not lose all the characteristics of its prestigious appellation: Châteauneuf-du-Pape. In this southern part of the Rhône, we generally obtain powerful and warm wines, also complex thanks to a wide variety of grape varieties (13 in total).
Its second difference is at the level of breeding, 50% of the harvest is aged in tuns or demi-muids for 12 months. This bottle of Mas Saint Louis "Arpents des Contrebandiers" 2018 therefore has good aging potential, if you taste it now, choose to decan it two hours before.
