Château Coutet "Cuvée Madame"

1989

Barsac

1er Cru Classé

White - 0,75 l

Château Coutet is a sweet white wine from Bordeaux which has the rank of 1er Cru Classé. It is located in Barsac where the terroir gives more freshness to the wines than the Sauternes terroir. The grape variety used here is Semillon, thanks to the region's foggy climate, the grape is colonized by a noble fungus: Botrytis. This will allow a slow transformation, a concentration of sugar and aromas, resulting in a real nectar.
This “Cuvée Madame” was created in 1943 in honor of the owner at the time. It is not carried out every year, only during exceptional vintages (18 times since 1943). The principle is to hand select the finest grapes which are used in the production of this exceptional vintage.
This bottle of Château Coutet "Cuvée Madame" 1989 is a prestigious bottle that can be kept for many years. It will offer great complexity of aromas and great richness when tasting with a very long finish.
