Those bottles have only been stored in two cellars, the winemaker's and ours.
Based in Ampuis, on the banks of the Rhône River in the heart of the Côte Rôtie region, Guigal produces a wide range of white and red wines, spanning all the main Rhône Valley appellations.The Châteauneuf du Pape appellation is unique in that it allows a total of 13 grape varieties to be used in its wines. Guigal capitalizes on this unique feature by combining them, the three most important being Grenache (70%), Mourvèdre (15%), and Syrah (10%). This is complemented by a slow aging process in foudres for 36 months. The result is a fruity, full-bodied, and spicy red wine with very rounded tannins.This bottle of Guigal Châteauneuf du Pape Rouge 2018 is starting to taste good and will continue to do so for a good ten years.
