Château Troplong Mondot is one of 14 red wines which hold the rank of 1er Grand Cru Classé in Saint-Emilion, one of the most famous appellations of Bordeaux.
With a very large majority of Merlot in its blend (more than 80%), Troplong Mondot is typical of red wines from the right bank of Bordeaux. The other grape varieties present are Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon.
This bottle of Troplong Mondot 1983 comes from a very good vintage in Saint-Emilion. Although slightly on the decline, the tasting will provide lovers of advanced wines with a palette of complex aromas that they will appreciate.
