Château La Conseillante is ideally located in the Pomerol appellation, small in size but large in the quality of the great red wines it produces in Bordeaux. The very varied soil of La Conseillante, ranging from clay to gravel, gives richness and complexity to this Bordeaux vintage.The grape variety that thrives best in clay soils is Merlot (80% of the vineyard), while in the gravel, Cabernet Franc is used (20% of the vineyard).This bottle of Château la Conseillante 1955 still retains very good quality according to some critics who have tasted it recently, to be enjoyed after a quick decanting.
